Rebecca inspired us with the challenge "Hope Floats." I'm afraid I'm not quite on track with a message of hope though as a cancer patient every birthday and milestone reached is a reason to celebrate and hope! I'm also a little non-traditional with my hot air balloon floating in air instead of water.
All that said, here's how I made my card. I took a dictionary page and applied watered down Gesso over it. I spritzed blue reinker onto it while still wet then used my foam brush to spread it around a bit more. I dried this then stamped my balloon in Stazon black. I scribbled some pink Gelato directly onto my paper then used a wet brush to spread it around. I also scribbled some onto acetate and wet it well and added more color to the balloon as well as spatter some around. I blobbed a bit of stickles into what was left and mixed it to thin it out and applied a coat of that over the whole balloon. After tearing the edges and stamping my sentiments, I added stickles around these edges. I added my rick rack and accented with a pink pink and tiny bow.
Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also win prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Get to stamping!

What a beautiful vintage look and I'm glad you gave us a detailed description of your techniques as I couldn't have guessed how you'd achieved the beautiful look! I really love your pin and ribbon attached to the ric rac - very clever!
